Monthly Archives: December 2009

Here’s my latest work in progress. I’m working in Photoshop. I think I’m going to change the figure, but I’ve got a good start at the background.

Little Piggies

I painted a couple of piggy banks for my niece and nephew as Christmas presents. My nephew gets the ninja pig and my niece gets the pirate pig. I hope they like them

Happy Holidays all!

The Letter A

The first of my celtic alphabet paintings is done!

copyright Christina Kester 2009

It is acrylic on wood, approximately 6 by 6 inches. The letter and a few other elements are in gold paint, which does not scan or photograph very well.

Inspiration 12-10-09

I’m feeling a little lost lately. Not being able to find work is really starting to get to me. However, I just watched a movie that really lifted my spirits.

Julie & Julia

While I found that the portions with Julie were weak compared to those with Julia, the movie, rather Julia Child, has inspired me to be persistent and to  stick with what I love.

Commission Sale

In the spirit of the holidays and keeping the current economy in mind I’m doing a sale on commissions.

I am offering 4×6 to 5×7 paintings for $45.
Examples of what I can do:

The sale will last through the end of January, but if you are wanting a Christmas gift please get in touch with me before December 10th.
If interested, please e-mail me at
